Забавная статья. Только почему бы не порассуждать дальше и не написать о более перспективном ТНК РН? Европейски образованные, внешне неотличимые от других европейцев русские националисты, православные или даже старообрядцы, с православием в груди и Кураевым в уме, гораздо успешнее могли бы оказывать услуги определённого рода в европейских державах, а также и в Америке. Надо написать заявку, тут же денжышшы зарыты, и власть над миром тоже.

Перевод надо править - он во многом на ломаном неестественном языке.
Его не обязательно переписывать с нуля (как я сделал в отрывке ниже), но править обязательно

Humanity always wanted to rid itself of war, just remember Aristophanes' Lysistrata, a classic Greek anti-war comedy. But only in the XX century people finally managed to make a significant step in that direction. And as usual the road paved with good intentions led us if not to Hell then to some historical cul-de-sac.
A whole school of philosophy starting from Max Stirner and Friedrich Nietze attempted to convince humanity that violence and aggression are indispensable - although, understandably, not the most pleasant - parts of human nature, and that complete ban on them would not eliminate, but only displace those traits and force them to become revealed in another form, which would possibly be even worse than wars, tje latter at least being fought according to known rules. Nevertheless the European civilization was so scared after the WWI that the view of man as possessor of an innately kind nature prevailed in the XX century.

The famous (Briand-Kellogg) Pact of 1928 directly prohibited the use of war as a means of resolving international disputes. The general position of the League of Nations was exactly the same. However the history of WWII demonstrated that well-intended and intelligent words alone meant nothing. Hitler simply failed to notice bans and pronouncements of the wise men of Europe, and if European democracies had chosen to dully observe the Pact, without doubt they would have been dealt with very quickly.

На самом деле чтобы звучало прилично стилю какого-нибудь Foreign Affairs нужно поменять стиль самого автора, изложившего мысли набором в большинстве своем простых предложений:
It is sufficient to remember the famous Lysistrata to become convinced that Humanity always wanted to rid itself of the phenomenon of war; however only the XX century permitted us to make a significant step in that direction.
и так далее, объединяя логическими связками и делая структуру более журнальной по стилю что ли

	А мне её перевод нужен для конструктивного общения с турецкими think-tanks. И в таком виде, после лёгкой правки, она вполне пойдёт. Ибо турки разговаривают на своего рода пиджин-инглиш. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
